Come to the end of the road.

From Virginia, MN: north on US-53 twelve miles, right on County 68 through Britt (wave at the general store), then follow Birch Point Road two miles to its end. When the pavement turns to gravel you're close; when you can smell the lake you're here. Parking is the grass lot past the mailboxes — the lot by the office is for loading boats and unloading grandparents.

The surest way to reach a human May through October is to call the office. Email is answered evenings, once the boats are in. In winter, Tuesday and Thursday office hours are real but bring patience — and if the answer is urgent and involves ice thickness, the answer is no.
